LEPAS is a 'new energy vehicle' brand established by Chinese automotive giant Chery International. The brand sits under the same umbrella as Chery, OMODA and JAECOO.

Yes, LEPAS is owned by Chery International, which also owns OMODA, JAECOO and Chery, launched in the UK last September. All these brands are sister brands, all offering something different for buyers.

LEPAS will launch two additional models in the future, but their launch date has not been confirmed.

• LEPAS L6: a mid-size crossover expected to have petrol, electric and hybrid options.
• LEPAS L4: a compact entry-level SUV, roughly the same size as a Nissan Qashqai, and is expected to be the most affordable model in the range.

Leopard aesthetic

Its distinctive design evokes the power and beauty of the leopard, featuring LED headlights styled to resemble a leopard's eye and a sleek, European-influenced silhouette.

Legroom

While it's a five-seater, it has a long wheelbase like the seven-seater Chery TIGGO 9, offering rear legroom that rivals much larger SUVs like the BMW X5.

The LEPAS L8 includes fully reclinable seats for various modes, including 'Cinema mode' and 'Nap mode' for rest during charging stops.

The LEPAS L8 PHEV starts from £34,900 with the entry-level Essence trim. The higher specification Elevate trim level starts from £37,900 RRP.

LEPAS will offer a seven-year/100,000-mile vehicle warranty and an eight-year/100,000-mile warranty on the high-voltage battery system. All models will also have seven years of RAC Roadside Assistance as standard.
